Kindergarten

Welcome to Lawrence Elementary Kindergarten!  We are delighted to be a part of your child’s first “formal educational” experience. Early childhood education is the foundation for lifelong learning and we believe, therefore, that the kindergarten year must be designed appropriately and implemented effectively as it will enhance a child’s entire school experience.

Extensive research in the field of early childhood education is the basis upon which our kindergarten philosophy and program is built - children learn through play, modeling and interaction.  They are active, not passive, in their exploration of knowledge. The purpose of our program is to create an environment that accepts children for who they are and also acknowledges and values what each child individually brings to the learning situation. We also encourage children to think creatively, and use their knowledge to expand and generate new ways of thinking.
